Programs and Activities
The primary activities of the Forum are Business Plan Presentations, Panel Discussions, and interactive Satellite Broadcasts.
Business Plan Presentations
Business Plan Presentations feature the presentation of a business plan by the entrepreneurs and critiques of the plan and the presentation by an expert panel and the audience. Presenting entrepreneurs can use this event as a "practice run" before attempting to raise capital, and in fact presenting companies have received investments from venture capitalists and angels in the audience.
Business plans are selected for presentation each month. Entrepreneurs presenting their business plans work with MITEF board members to refine their presentation. A typical business plan presentation follows the following agenda:
- Forum announcements
- The main presenter (company) describes their business plan and the challenges they face
- Expert panelists discuss the company, the plan, and offer insights
- The company responds, expressing their reaction to the panelist's comments and recommendations
- Finally, the audience asks questions about the company

If you are interested in presenting your company to the MIT Enterprise Forum of NYC, please complete the AngelsoftTM online application. We will carefully review your summary and respond to you as soon as possible. Companies chosen to present are asked to contribute $300 in order to defray a portion of the cost for the venue and event publicity. On a periodic basis we run business plan presentation events open to our membership and contacts for the purpose of promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in the New York City area.
