FinTech Entrepreneurs are a critical part of the New York economy. They generally find market inefficiencies and move rapidly and quietly to build their businesses and quickly capture financial gain. With all the regulatory changes and global economic shifts that are taking place today, new opportunities continuously present themselves, and bright entrepreneurs innovate quickly using technology to efficiently and profitably address the market inefficiencies.
The MIT Enterprise Forum will host a panel discussion this spring that will showcase two FinTech entrepreneurs. Philippe Buhannic, founder and CEO of TradingScreen and Barry Silbert, Founder and CEO of Second Market, and will be moderated by Larry Kramer, founder and former CEO of Marketwatch, he is also an Adjunct Professor and Author of "C-Scape: Conquer the Forces Changing Business Today".

Larry Kramer
CEO and Founder
MarketWatch
The panel will be moderated by Larry Kramer, who was Chairman, CEO and Founder of MarketWatch until its sale to Dow Jones. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Media Management at the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University and the Author of C-Scape: Conquer the Forces Changing Business Today, a book on the changing landscape for media and related industries published by Harper Collins. He was the First President of CBS Digital Media, and serves Discovery Communications (NASDAQ: DISCA), American Media Inc., Freedom Communications, Inc., Appinions, Inc., BlackArrow, Inc. (Chairman) and Harvard Business School Publishing, and serves on the Advisory Boards to the Newhouse School (chairman), Minyanville.com, Crossboarders.tv and Jib Jab Media Inc. He was a founding board member and former Chairman of The Online Publishers Association.

Philippe Buhannic
Founder and CEO

Philippe Buhannic is the Founder and CEO of TradingScreen. is an industry pioneer with more than 20 years of global management, technical and marketing experience. Buhannic co-founded TradingScreen in 1999 to create an intuitive electronic platform to connect the buy and sell-side. Since then, Buhannic has built TradingScreen into the leading execution management, order management and portfolio management system (EMS/OMS/PMS) globally. Prior to TradingScreen, Buhannic served as a Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston and was instrumental in creating and implementing its e-commerce products.

Barry Silbert
Founder and CEO
SecondMarket
Barry Silbert is the Founder and CEO of SecondMarket. Prior to founding SecondMarket in 2004, Barry was an investment banker at Houlihan Lokey. Barry graduated with honors from the Goizueta Business School of Emory University, and holds Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses. Barry is a frequent speaker at conferences on the topic of trading alternative assets and has appeared in many leading publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Financial Times, USA Today and Forbes. Barry has been featured on CNBC, CNN Money, Bloomberg News and Fox Business News.
