Fresh Funding Sources
for Early Stage Companies in Silicon Alley

Previously, many early stage Silicon Alley companies faced a shortage of funding sources. Now a number of new funding sources focus on early stage companies in Silicon Alley. A panel of funding sources revealed the secrets of their investment strategies.
Panelists discussed size of the fund, average size of the investment, targeted sectors, and description of portfolio investments to date. They looked at key company-specific elements that create an attractive investment opportunity, as well as valuation parameters and syndication of deals.
Other factors reviewed were the active versus passive role of the fund in companies, a description of investors in the fund and their timing and ROI expectations, exit strategies, and any recent changes in strategies in light of recent stock market turbulence. The format allowed for questions and answers from the audience.
