MIT ENTERPRISE FORUM OF NEW YORK CITY, INC.
presents
A Business Builders Series Event:
Partnerships, Mergers and Alliances:
"Which, When, Why?"
The Business Builder Series is a quarterly panel intended to instruct entrepreneurs in critical business skills and processes. Most MITEF panels offer cutting-edge insight on the broad forces shaping specific industry sectors; Business Builder events, by contrast, offer timely insights into the practical tools executives can use to move their own business forward.
"Synergy?" " Complementarity?" Lots of reasons are offered for combining the resources of companies. Some make sense. Some don't.
This panel will explore justifications for collaboration and combination, with a hard look at why the best-intentioned efforts often fail to produce results. Our panel will discuss whether you should work together and how to optimize the relationship. Issues will include the structure, the consequences, the benefits and the risks.
Panelists:
- Nick Davidge, CEO of the Institutional Investments Division of S1 Corporation; founder/CEO of Davidge Data Systems Corp., acquired by S1 in 2000
- Donatella Giacometti, Founder and CEO, Ten Second World, Inc., specialists in positioning and strengthening corporate and product brands during a merger or acquisition.
- Neil Townsend, Partner, Bingham Dana; focus in mergers, acquisitions and alliances
