The technologies currently being created and deployed are critical for the efficacy of our Homeland Security.
Homeland Security represents one of the few growth areas in the technology sector. The Federal government's first post-September 11th budget directs $37.7 billion to Homeland Security, up from $9.5 billion.
Technologies being created include food supply protection, biometrics, border and transportation security, distributed computing, tracking technology, emergency preparedness and response, and bio-terrorism countermeasures.
