Healthcare Information Technology Revolution:

Heaven or Hell?

Electronic transmission and storage of patient medical information is not a "hot" area. Changes are being driven by the desire of healthcare entities including employees, insurance companies, and physicians to decrease costs, decrease errors and improve quality of care. Another key "driver" is a new law (HIPPA) that requires that healthcare providers make major changes to the way they store and transmit patient medical information - and those changes must be implemented soon.

  • What types of outsourcing will hospitals, insurance companies, and physician practices need to make the changes and manage the new processes on an ongoing basis?
  • What opportunities for VCs, software developers, and consultants exist in this “gold mine”--opportunities that are so needed with the lessening of Internet opportunities?
  • How do Internet companies that already deliver medical information among healthcare providers and to the public see building upon their infrastructure and relationships in connection with the new law?
  • Will this “revolution” improve medical care, save lives, decrease costs, and change how doctors practice medicine?
  • Join us as we explore these issues and more.
