Three Wireless Business Plan Presentations:
Ambient Devices
Adjungo Networks
Joltage Networks
Ambient Devices Ambient has a patented technology platform that helps product companies bring embedded wireless products to market. Using Ambient, product companies can launch embedded wireless products that are dramatically faster to design, cheaper to maintain, and have a smaller footprint than current offerings. Manufacturers in consumer electronics use Ambient to produce everyday wireless devices like pens, watches, and wall-clocks that can be mapped to information sources like stocks, weather, or enterprise data. Healthcare device manufacturers use Ambient to collect and display trend data wirelessly from gluco-meters and blood pressure gauges. Ambient is working with top companies in financial services, consumer electronics, health and wellness, and business accessories to embed wireless into their products.
Adjungo Networks provides technology for wireless carriers to integrate their network with WLAN as well as future wireless technologies. The MobileGate platform, the company's flagship product, enables carriers to offer rich media value-added services including security, roaming and seamless billing to their customers at "hot spots" such as buildings, malls, hospitals, etc. It is currently in demo form and has been shown at CTIA. An alpha version is due in the 3rd quarter of 2002 and negotiations are underway for it to be installed with a wireless carrier. The company has conducted high-level discussion with nearly all GSM-based wireless carriers in the U.S. and Europe about their needs for building and operating a secure WLAN-cellular gateway.
Joltage Networks enables the creation of high-speed wireless Internet HotSpots. Joltage HotSpots are revenue-generating locations owned by independent HotSpot Providers, or "micro-ISPs". For HotSpot deployment, Joltage provides a simple-to-use, downloadable software application, which seamlessly integrates with a comprehensive suite of back-end services. Joltage Subscribers pay either $1.99 for one hour of service or $24.99 for a month's usage anywhere on the network. Subscribers benefit from Joltage's simple set-up process, which does not require any software to be downloaded to the Subscriber's machine. For access to Joltage HotSpots, Subscribers simply open an Internet browser and go. Joltage's proprietary software solution is patent-pending.
