Riding the Social Media Groundswell!

Thu May 15, 2008 5:15 PM

Riding the Social Media Groundswell
The Inside Story from the Co-Author of a Hot New Book

The Speaker: Josh Bernoff, one of Forrester Research's top analysts and co-author of Groundswell.
The Book: Groundswell: Winning in a World Transformed by Social Technologies (Harvard Business School Press, May 2008)
What the Authors say about it: Blogs, social networks, wikis, and discussion forums. YouTube, MySpace and Facebook. These tech buzzwords strike fear in managers because they represent a groundswell of consumer involvement that can't be controlled and can't be stopped. Groundswell explains not only how these technologies work, but how companies can tap into the biggest consumer trend of the decade. You can turn the groundswell to your advantage--and get your customers to help with the hard work of developing and selling your products. You need what Groundswell provides: hard consumer data, models that work, proof of return, and twenty-five cases from varied industries and geographies. Executives that embrace the groundswell tend to rise in their organizations, even as their companies become more customer-focused.
Your Opportunity: Meet the author. Buy a signed copy of the book on or about the day it is released. Using tools and data straight from Forrester, learn how to:
  • Evaluate new social technologies as they emerge
  • Determine how different groups of consumers are participating in social technology arenas.
  • Apply a four-step process for formulating your future strategy.
  • Build social technologies into your business including monitoring your brand value, talking with the groundswell through marketing and PR campaigns, and energizing your best customers to recruit their peers.
